Roof Warranties in Florida, Explained

There are two separate warranties on a roof, and they cover different failures.

Manufacturer warranty

Covers defects in the material itself. It generally does not cover installation error, and it usually has conditions around ventilation, installation to specification and registration.

Workmanship warranty

Covers the installation — the contractor's work. This is the one that matters most, because most roof failures are installation failures, not material defects. O'Brien Contracting provides a lifetime workmanship guarantee on our installations, with terms in writing.

Read the exclusions

Storm damage, foot traffic damage, and work performed by others on your roof are commonly excluded from both.
